The recent devastating earthquake in Haiti underscores the need for preventative mitigation and restoration efforts for Haiti and for the many ports, harbors, marinas, coastal waterways, and wetlands in the U.S. and around the world that my be in danger of destruction - partial or total - in the event of an earthquake, storm, or other natural stress.

Charles B.
